1. The Alchemist "Hold you down"
Right now I'm really feeling this joint. I love the "hold you down" sample they use, and Nina Skyy actually sounds good doing the hook on this. Plus Mobb Deep is on this banger. I like it.
2. The Diplomats "Santana(Juuuulez)"
I want to take that little kid and throw his azz out the window. Ok, I know it's not really him singing that sped up sample, but they put his little azz in the video, so I'm going after him! Santana keeps saying "I'm Baaaaaaack", nigga we never noticed you left.

I like the idea Juicy. So I changed the title and made this a sticky. The purpose of this thread is to post opinion of new singles or albums that have been released, possibly a review, etc. Anything off topic will be deleted without warning. Nice work Juice...  (Don't PM me with complaints if your rants are deleted, stick to the topic) // edit - I know some people will still post up threads when some big star releases their new album, so I guess we can just use this as we see fit. I just liked the idea...

Ashanti's - ONLY U
I was shocked atthe production , cause the beat is wicked (oh those guitars!  ) and I was equally shocked to listen to the lyrics and the word baby is not used - not once!

Nas - Streets Disciple
The first Disc is banging.. I really haven't taken in the second on as yet, cause I'm just hypnotized!
I put the album in the player, and it was like I entered a time warp! circ 1994 (hint hint illmatic)
except for American Way and Reason everything is reminiscent of that album. So, Big, Pac, Outkast, now Nas with the double albums.. saying Jay-z's gonna have to 'come out of retirement' to make a double album eh? lol 
EDIT// ah yes, I forgot about Blueprint 2.0.. must say I was a little disappointed, but then the Black Album came out and he is now forgiven  ____________________________________________________________

Sage Francis--A Healthy Distrust.
It doesn't come out til February, but let's just say that I got an advanced copy.
If you are expecting the same old Sage, you might be surprised in the changess.
But those changes make it even better than his freshman effort Personal Journals--after a couple of listens. The beats make Personal Journals' look like they were recorded on an answering machine. They are fuller, more complex, and just better in every sort of way. The only thing that is missing is that saxophone--it was tremendous in some of his PJ and anticon days, but is nowhere to be found on this album.
But gone is the personal introspection, and instead there is the angry hip hop artist who named his latest tour the "Fuck Clear Channel" tour. "Gunz Yo" sounds off against people who tote guns around. While the tone is angry, the lyrics are still as clever and spot on as ever before. "It's a detachable penis, an extension of my manhood positioned like a fetus." "I got another gun/I keep it in my briefcase/It keeps me safe at my workplace/Cubicle gangsta".
And then to prove that he hasn't changed too much, he starts the next track, "Escape Artist" with lines about Magic. Yeah, the card game. Then he goes back to signing off about major corporations in "Product Placement."
It turns out that he isn't fond of our current leader either. "It's all for the sake of military recruitment/It felt like Kent State, the way they targeted the students."
Gone is the almost desperate voice, replaced by a hip hop MC totally confident in his abilities. As he should be after winning Scribble Jam and proving himself in clubs around the country both with Joe Beats as Non-Prophets and solo.
